KIMBERLEY M. SPURLOCK
Personal Injury Lawyer Kimberley M. Spurlock was born in Houston, Texas and raised in Humble, Texas. She attended Humble High School and played on the varsity women’s golf team. Kim graduated from the University of Texas at Austin in 1997 with a degree in Sociology. She then attended South Texas College of Law, graduating Cum Laude in 2001. Kim earned her Board Certification in Personal Injury Trial Law by the Texas Board of Legal Specialization in 2009. Kim began her legal career working for a downtown law firm handling insurance defense and coverage issues. She later handled mass tort litigation, including asbestos litigation.
Kim opened Spurlock & Associates, P.C. in September of 2003. Since that time, she has handled a variety of legal matters for individuals and small businesses. Kim lives in Atascocita, Texas with her husband, Jimmy Spurlock. She enjoys playing golf and traveling.
Partner/Litigation and Appeals
Misty Hataway-Coné has years of experience in the areas of appellate practice, business and commercial litigation and insurance coverage and defense. This experience includes first-party and third-party insurance litigation; multi-million dollar commercial litigation disputes; personal injury suits; public law matters; attending to loan closings, foreclosure and related collection needs on behalf of mid-size financial institutions; representing plaintiffs and defendants in breach of contract actions related to indemnification agreements; and assorted appellate proceedings, including bankruptcy appeals. From 2011-2016, Misty served as an integral member of the team of lawyers representing Halliburton, working in connection with all civil litigation and investigations arising from the April 2010 Gulf of Mexico Oil Spill. Misty’s appellate practice includes representing clients throughout the Texas intermediate courts of appeals, the Texas Supreme Court, the Southern and Eastern Districts of Texas, the Fifth Circuit Court of Appeals, and before the United States Supreme Court.
Of Counsel – Family Law
Elizabeth S. Pagel has practiced exclusively family law for more than ten years. She graduated Magna Cum Laude from Thurgood Marshall School of Law in 2006 and received her law license that same year. She has experience dealing with all aspects of family law, including divorce, child custody, child support, adoptions, modifications of existing orders, and protective orders. She is dedicated to the peaceful preservation of family relationships, particularly in the midst of restructuring those relationships.
Elizabeth is a member of the Burta Rhodes Raborn Family Law Inn of Court, the College of the State Bar of Texas, the Houston Bar Association, and is currently president of the Northeast Harris County Bar Association.
She has been married for 35 years and is the mother of 3 and grandmother of 4.
SUZANNE D. PERRY
Suzanne D. Perry is a native Houstonian. She graduated summa cum laude from the University of St. Thomas with a Bachelor of Arts in political science in May 2007. She then attended University of Houston Law Center, graduating with her law degree in May 2012. While in law school, Suzanne served as Publications Editor of the Houston Journal of Health Law and Policy and interned in Harris County Probate Court No. 3 and the 312th Family Court. She also gained experience clerking at a probate and estate planning firm in Houston. Following graduation from law school, Suzanne joined Spurlock & Associates, P.C. as an associate attorney handling a variety of civil litigation, probate, and family law matters. In her free time, Suzanne enjoys being active in her church, baking, and snow skiing.
Pia graduated cum laude from Tulane University Law School, where she was the Senior Notes and Comments editor of the Tulane Environmental Law Journal. After law school, Pia clerked for the Honorable Stephen Wm. Smith in the Southern District of Texas. She practiced at large firms in New York City and Houston representing both businesses and individuals in high-stakes litigation. She was also an integral member of the legal team representing Halliburton in the Deepwater Horizon Oil Spill litigation. She brings years of litigation experience to the firm.
Prior to attending law school, Pia served as a Teach For America corps member in Washington, D.C., committing two years to teaching low-income, high-risk students. Outside of her legal practice, Pia is a yoga teacher, long distance runner, animal rescuer, and career coach. She lives in Houston, Texas with her two dogs Dakota and Boston.
